For centuries, there has been no art. It is considered to be overcome - by techniques of the possible, of which people knew nothing while they still lived on Earth. Now, they have settled many worlds and encountered many intelligent beings. However, on Feldeváye, a remote planet, art returns - as a gift from an alien species. A young girl, Kathrin Ristau, poses big questions: What was art, why is it coming back, what happens to us when we rediscover it? The novel tells the story of a woman who must find personal and political answers to the questions of art well into old age, because nothing that concerns her, from great love to the path to fame to the horrors of war and civil war, can escape the life-defining questions about art.
