A quarter of a century after the fall of the Wall, it is time to reread the texts of Heiner Müller. The conceptual glitter of the bygone postmodern era could not affect them any more than the ideological censorship of the Open Society. Prophetic analyses can be discovered that articulate the misery and horror of triumphant capitalism in advance. This volume presents a selection of well-known and lesser-known texts by Heiner Müller on capitalism. The structure is based on five fundamental aspects of critique that run through the entire body of work: the dialectic of capital, the affect of disgust, the critique of language, the question of religion, and the permanence of war. Each chapter is introduced by a brief preface intended to provide a possible approach to the texts. The aim is to do justice to the opportunity that Heiner Müller offers as a dialectician.
