The crisis of the family and the demographic end of the generational contract are widely discussed. This volume undertakes the long-overdue assessment of research and complements the discourse on families and generations in contemporary society from both theoretical and empirical-conceptual perspectives. The contributions target not only sociology and related disciplines but also explicitly address politics and publicly conducted debates, such as those concerning childcare or intergenerational relationships in later family phases. The volume offers a comprehensive and open, yet also calmly sober analysis of today's family and generational relationships.
