As Volume 8 of the collected writings of Adorno, the first part of his sociological works is published. The subject of these essays is society. This is essentially the focus of all of Adorno's thinking, as it seeks to reveal the traces of socialization in all intellectual, cultural, and social phenomena. Therefore, the sociological writings do not actually form a separate group within his work; rather, they are an integral part of Adorno's philosophy. However, they may more easily demonstrate, because they are more directly related to social reality and its diagnosis, the contribution that this philosophy has made to the critical theory of society. They also illustrate why Adorno's thinking has taken a turn with some of his students that is not prefigured in his own work, yet is nonetheless dialectical.
