"A few months ago," writes Clemens Setz, "I found in a folder some old stories that I had written when I was eighteen or nineteen. As I flipped through these texts, I noticed that their titles, when written down one after the other, formed a poem in the style of the New York Poets. I posted the list of titles on the Suhrkamp blog and wrote summaries of some of the stories. This is how the idea for this volume came about. Actually, it was Kathrin Passig who suggested that I should turn it into a whole book." There are stories that are so profound that they cannot be told publicly, but only retold. Naturally by the author himself. Here they are. Forty-five in total, each one illustrated no less profoundly by Kai Pfeiffer.
