With the publication of Martin Heidegger's "Black Notebooks," the debate surrounding the entanglement of philosophy and National Socialism has been renewed and intensified. Openly anti-Semitic remarks in these thought diaries have caused outrage in the non-academic public. However, the crucial question is what changes in the perspective on Heidegger's thinking as a whole arise from this and whether a reassessment of the complete works of one of the most influential philosophers of the 20th century is necessary. The contributions in this volume explore Heidegger's philosophical and political statements, as well as his self-presentation and his use of ideologies of his time.
