Walter Benjamin recognized early on that technical media change artistic forms of representation and everyday experiences. Since the 1920s, numerous texts have emerged discussing the relationship between media development, art production, and changes in perception, establishing media aesthetics as a distinct area of aesthetics and art studies. The works created between 1925 and 1940 have had a lasting influence on art and media theoretical debates since their rediscovery. They are presented here for the first time, organized by media complexes.
