Just the astonishment in my surroundings when I went to my first Udo Jürgens concert! Hardly anything in my life has led to such ambivalent reactions, recalls Andreas Maier as he remembers experiencing Udo Jürgens live for the first time. In November 2014, he attended one of Jürgens' concerts in Frankfurt for the last time. In his report for the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, he wrote that the artist Jürgens always knew where and in which moments one could or must extract the promise of happiness or truth from one's own, very concrete social and private life. After Udo Jürgens' death at the end of December 2014, Andreas Maier decided to approach the combative singer once more.
