Product details

For those visiting Minsk for the first time, the vast boulevards, endless parks in the city center, and numerous palaces adorned with peculiar decorations can be both confusing and overwhelming. Designed by the Soviets as an ideal city, a realization of the communist utopia, Minsk has transformed into a space of the absurd: an architectural monument to a city of happiness and an expression of the impossibility of achieving it. Here, the struggle for the future takes place, with democracy pushing in, which has always undermined the establishment of an ideal city. Belarusian artist, architect, and publicist Artur Klinau portrays the "City of Dreams," recounts the resistance against Lukashenko's dictatorship, and notes the disappearance of Europe in the twilight zone of Belarus. Artur Klinau, born in 1965, is the editor of the only magazine dedicated to contemporary art.
