Nichtideale Normativität
German, Christopher Horn, 2014Product details
Kant's political thought is interpreted too superficially when it is understood—like in the prevailing moral interpretation—as merely a continuation of his ethics from the 1780s. The existing interpretation fails to explain why Kant abandons central moral characteristics such as intrinsic motivation or a strict universalization test. In his political philosophy, many characteristics of morality are missing, making it much better understood as an expression of a distinct form of non-ideal normativity based on the idea of law. Christoph Horn discusses Kant's equally fascinating and problematic attempt to develop an exclusively deontological form of political normativity without being able to rely on a theory of goods.
