Product details

A phenomenology of attention is not satisfied with subjective acts or anonymous mechanisms. It operates between noticing and paying attention in a gravitational field that alters the weights of things. We are involved, but not as autonomous subjects. This includes spatial scenarios and temporal delays. Something approaches us before we move toward it. Additionally, there is an arsenal of techniques, media, and social practices that produce an economy and politics of attention. The anchoring of these intermediary instances in the body, which as a corporeal entity also includes neurological processes and the workings of the unconscious, resists the hypostatization of body constructs, networks, and power practices. Attention conflicts point to an ethos that confronts us with the unexpected and culminates in an attention we give to others.
