Since their beginnings with the pre-Socratics, philosophy and physics have been closely intertwined. Severing this connection abandons the core task of physics – to gain knowledge about nature – as well as that of philosophy, which is to explore the fundamental characteristics of the world. This volume aims to showcase the diversity and vibrancy of philosophical engagement with physics in the German-speaking world today. It focuses on the interpretation of fundamental physical theories, namely quantum theory and general relativity, including quantum gravity and quantum field theory.
