The birth of the arts from the senses presupposes that the senses are imbued with something extravagant and playful, and conversely, that the arts capture sensual impulses. This exchange takes place in the medium of a technically and medially shaped aesthetics, kinetics, and pathos of the body. As Bernhard Waldenfels illustrates, this is evidenced by images and their effects, experiments with sound, tone, voice, and noise, dance movements, stage performances, and surprising cuts in film, as well as taste experiences. In the background, intuitions and the pathos of feeling emerge, which call forth the healing arts in the experience of pain. Thus, the phenomenological analysis of an experience shaped by encounter aligns with the resourcefulness of the arts.
