In the present bestiary, which will be followed by a florilegium, a lapidarium, and a machinarium, the animal is granted the status of a figure of knowledge. It becomes the agent of a knowledge that is generated from this figure in the first place. As a constitutive condition of a discourse on machine and human, on nature and culture, the animals in this bestiary presented here become the super-animal: this becomes the model for humanity, the embodiment of what humans cannot or do not possess.
