The pieces in this volume do not exhibit as tangible thematic and material commonalities as was partially the case in the previous volumes of the collected works. They are simply the last pieces published in the 1990s. Nevertheless, there are thematic constants and dominant key motifs in the new pieces as well: the longing for utopia, life as a role, delusion and madness, and finally, the question that is repeatedly posed at the beginning of a piece, which remains unanswered by the end: How should one live, what should one do?.
