The Succulent Lexicon has been the first comprehensive representation of succulent plants for over 30 years. It is the result of close collaboration among numerous specialists from around the world and represents a milestone in succulent botany with its diagnostic descriptions and complete synonyms. Hundreds of color images illustrate the diversity of these fascinating plants, making the lexicon an indispensable resource for hobby collectors, gardeners, botanical gardens, and botanical specialists. A total of four volumes are planned, covering all succulent plants except for the Cactaceae (cacti) and Aizoaceae (ice plant family). This volume, which includes the families of monocotyledonous plants, encompasses succulents from 14 families and 52 genera. Approximately 1,000 species and over 400 infraspecific taxa are covered in total.
