Taken from the author's introductory course at the University of Orsay, "Superconductivity of Metals and Alloys" aims to explain the fundamental knowledge of superconductivity for both experimentalists and theorists. These notes begin with a basic discussion of the magnetic properties of type I and II superconductors. The microscopic theory is then developed in the Bogolubov language of self-consistent fields.
