Over half a million people live in the refugee camp in Beirut, which Barbara Abdeni Massaad visited every week during the winter of 2014/2015, where she prepared meals for about 50 Syrian families. However, she wanted to do even more against the misery she encountered there. The photographer and cookbook author asked internationally renowned chefs for one of their soup recipes and a statement regarding the current refugee crisis. From the overwhelming feedback, she compiled this comprehensive cookbook. The profits from the sale of the book go 100% to the refugee aid organization "Schams e. V.", which initiates and supports projects for Syrian children on the ground in the long term. Featuring recipes from Sarah Wiener, Christian Rach, Nelson Müller, Mario Kotaska, Ralf Zacherl, Yotam Ottolenghi, Sami Tamimi, Martin Baudrexel, Meta Hiltebrand, Elisabeth Raether, and Anthony Bourd.
