Made in Germany: emblematic sculptures. In her installations and performances, Suse Weber, born in 1970 in Leipzig and now living in Berlin, addresses tough themes: tradition and power, as well as symbolic order and social structure. The artist meticulously develops a very specific system of signs, which she applies to several life-sized puppets in performance-like processes. The resulting installations, which she calls "emblematic sculptures," consist of a multitude of tiny image elements that, on one hand, depict banal everyday objects and materials, while on the other hand, resemble national symbols or elements from heraldry.
