"Borth, you little, dear town," wrote Martha Müller-Grählert, the author of the Baltic Sea song, in a poem about her birthplace. More than 200 photographs, mostly from private collections, depict daily life in Barth and life by the Bodden from 1870 to 1970. The book showcases the people who withstood the tumult of the times, whether at work, in their leisure, or during celebrations. The varied course of history, especially since the end of the 19th century, has left its mark on the lives of the citizens, which can be traced through this book. The lovingly selected images and informative texts aim to evoke memories for long-time residents of Barth, while also providing inspiration for newcomers over the years to engage with the history of the small town by the Bodden.
