Product details

Weissensee, located on the northeastern edge of Berlin, is known as the "green district." This contrast to the crowded and often dimly lit areas of the city center is also very appealing to many non-residents of Weissensee. However, the local residents have a special connection to their neighborhood. Therefore, they are the focus of this photo book, which offers insights into the everyday and the extraordinary aspects of life in Weissensee through around 200 mostly unpublished images from five decades. The photos come from the archive of the City History Museum and depict the world of work, leisure activities, and significant social events. Regional historian Joachim Bennewitz, known for his lectures, city tours, numerous publications, and the conceptual design of exhibitions at the Weissensee Local History Museum, invites the viewer on a small journey of discovery.
