Over 200 photos from the collections of the Idar-Oberstein city archive are being presented to the public here - some for the first time. The images, dating from around 1900 to 1980, provide impressions of the diverse life along the Nahe and Idarbach rivers. Here you will find an overview of the overall picture of Idar-Oberstein in the past, including places that no longer exist, buildings that were demolished years ago or have since been structurally altered, and above all, the lives of the people who lived and live here. Many will rediscover themselves or their ancestors in the photos. The focus of the historical photographs is on the two largest districts, Oberstein and Idar, but the smaller districts are also included in this selection.
