Product details

Celle - the southern gateway to the Lüneburg Heath - is a gem on the Aller River, with its beautiful old town. Its history is as ancient as it is multifaceted. Historical images allow us to experience the past of Celle even today. For this reason, the local historian and author Justus Steinbömer has once again opened his unique private collection. The Celle author and cultural landscape researcher Florian Friedrich selected over 200 mostly unpublished postcards and photographs from this collection - including the oldest known postcard of Celle. In six chapters, the captivating images showcase not only the hospitable houses and the streets and squares of the city but also some of the numerous bridges and document the long-gone Celle tram. Particularly, the chapters about the people of Celle and Celle's noble horses provide a glimpse into everyday life.
