Neuburg experienced its most glorious era as a residence city during the Renaissance. After the end of the Principality of Pfalz-Neuburg, the garrison primarily shaped life in the city. The numerous soldiers also contributed to keeping the diverse restaurant culture in the Danube city vibrant. Barbara Höglmeier and Rita Mehringer from the city museum, along with Roland Thiele from the Historical Association of Neuburg, have embarked on a quest for traces and uncovered some curious findings along the way. Around 120 previously largely unpublished historical photographs showcase the old traditional inns, excursion venues, and breweries. They depict the lively atmosphere in the establishments and recall the former innkeepers who gave each restaurant its unique character. Images of club celebrations, old advertisements, and original collectibles from days gone by complete the picture.
