Around 150 years ago, the first photographer settled in Ueckermünde. As early as 1873, the residents of the small town by the lagoon could regularly make use of the services of photographers, including many traveling photographers. Since 1890, photographic studios have existed in Ueckermünde. Over the following hundred years, at least six photographers worked in the town, and from 1900, amateur photographers also became active. They all left behind a large number of city views, portrait, family, and club photographs. Hans-Jörg Wilke has once again embarked on a quest for traces and, supported by the Ueckermünder Haffmuseum, traces the work of the photographers up to 1985. More than 200 mostly unpublished images provide a varied insight into the town's history and the everyday life of its citizens. The harbor, Haffbad, hunting in the forest and heath, as well as leisure activities, are all included.
