Idyllically located at the foot of the Black Forest High Woods, the former market town of Wadern, with its 14 districts, is a vibrant and livable community in the green. Although the municipality only received city rights in 1978, it can look back on a tumultuous history spanning over a thousand years. Following the great success of his first picture book featuring historical photos, Hanns Peter Ebert, an employee of the cultural office and board member of the Wadern Local History Association, now presents the long-awaited sequel. Over 200 previously mostly unpublished images, primarily from private photo albums, invite the reader once again on an exciting journey through time around the Wadern marketplace and its districts. The unique photographs, especially from the first half of the 20th century, document the often challenging everyday life of the people of Wadern between work and leisure.
