Product details

By decision of the Vienna City Council on July 6, 1849, and imperial sanction on March 8, 1850, the suburbs of Erdberg, Weissgerber, and Landstrasse - the old Nikolaivorstadt - were incorporated into the association of the imperial capital and residence city. Over the past 150 years, the appearance of the third district has changed significantly, more than its residents are often aware of. This volume aims to not only document these changes in the district's appearance but also to photographically portray the people living and working there between 1870 and 1970. The author, a profound expert on the district, served for many years as a representative of the district and most recently as a member of the state parliament and city council, and has previously published two district volumes. The approximately 240 photographs, some of which are previously unpublished.
