The legal regulations regarding property law, alimony, and pension equalization in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland are presented, along with the possibilities for agreements within the framework of a marriage contract or marriage pact and a divorce agreement. After comparing the three legal systems, the advantages and disadvantages of the regulations and case law are discussed. Furthermore, the harmonization of family law at the European level is addressed. The jurisdiction of the courts and the applicable law are outlined. Finally, the creation of uniform conflict-of-law rules and the standardization of divorce consequences are discussed.
