With the integrated Quality Scales (IQS), there is a comprehensive set of tools to assess the educational quality in all forms of institutional early childhood education, care, and upbringing: in kindergartens, nurseries, mixed-age facilities, and child day care centers. The scales are German adaptations of the original American and English scales, partially expanded to include specific quality features relevant to the situation in Germany. The instruments can be used for both quality assessment and quality development.
