There are still few satisfactory tools for the didactic design of teaching situations that support both inexperienced educators and simultaneously promote the creativity and didactic diversity of experts. This book presents a new approach to this dilemma. Peter Baumgartner develops a didactic taxonomy that links eight action layers with six description levels. Based on a categorical model that focuses not on teachers but on learners, didactic dimensions and principles are constructed that can serve a guiding function for teaching methods. The results are exemplarily applied using the 20 teaching models of Karl-Heinz Flechsig. In the course of this discursive exploration, over 130 teaching units are analyzed.
