Young people must first find their place in society. The pressure to consume, fears about the future, and experienced social inequality expose them to many temptations. Even though some offenders almost challenge the strong state: criminal deviations cannot be corrected with punishment alone. In contrast, restorative justice focuses on voluntary compensation for the damage caused. It aims to give victims more rights in the criminal process, but it also seeks to open the eyes of offenders through direct contact with the victims. In "Fair-Handlung," Juliane Horn explains the principles of restorative justice from an educational perspective. Through individual interviews, she explores the opportunities that arise in educational work, especially with young people. Supporting young individuals on their path to self-discovery must remain a primary concern of society.
