With spray cans, brushes, or markers, they artistically claim the streets: Street Art activists. The British former graffiti artist Banksy, a pseudonym, is a master of this new art form with old roots. He oscillates between humor and provocation, using his stencils and guerrilla actions to satirize well-known brands and motifs. The term Street Art has now become established for the unauthorized and heterogeneous flood of images in international metropolises, as opposed to Post Graffiti, Guerrilla Art, or Urban Art.
