Mario Schreiner investigates, based on 20 problem-centered interviews evaluated through qualitative content analysis and empirically grounded typology, how employment in workshops for people with disabilities (WfbM) affects their employees. The author highlights the perception of social participation and societal recognition through this special form of employment and identifies four types of workshop employees. The theoretical foundation of the empirical study is the connection and operationalization of the concept of participation and recognition theory.
