Fredy Gareis has set himself quite a challenge: a journey from Tel Aviv to Berlin on an old steel bike, without any training. 5000 kilometers through countries like Jordan, Lebanon, and Kosovo. Along his ride through blooming and scarred landscapes, he collects the stories of residents from over forty different faiths - sometimes laughing, sometimes despairing, always with an awareness of political and historical contexts. He meets Serife, a Turkish painter, and races with Syrian refugee children. He endures assaults and near-death experiences, ultimately becoming a philosophizing bike nomad and asphalt cowboy.
