Continuously increasing bandwidths and ever cheaper flat-rate access further enhance the medium's attractiveness for both providers and consumers. Audiovisual content plays a crucial role in increasing the reach of the internet. Services like IPTV, web TV, or video portals are increasingly competing with traditional television. Against the backdrop of these developments, the question arises about the future of television in a digital media world.
