Bachelor's thesis from 2009 in the field of Education - Science, Theory, Anthropology, grade: 2.3, Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster (Institute for Educational Science), language: German.

Abstract: Pierre Félix Bourdieu was born on August 1, 1930, in Denguin and died on January 23, 2002, in Paris. He was a French philosopher and sociologist. One of his major works is the book "Distinction" published in 1979. In this work, he describes French society as a class society and makes it clear that this is also true for all other Western industrial societies. Essentially, Bourdieu's theory is a continuation of the theories of social inequality. If social life could be compared to a game of chance, every person would have the opportunity at any time to achieve a new, higher status in a very short period.
