Product details
Angela Rohr's late stories "The Bird" and "Time," written around 1959, are among the first literary explorations of women's fates under Stalinist persecution. Both texts were rediscovered in 2005. The Austrian Angela Rohr (1890 - 1985), an expressionist poet, Dadaist, and friend of Rilke, moved to Moscow and Siberia in 1925 after attempts in psychoanalysis. From there, she wrote articles for the Frankfurter Zeitung and other German publications. In the literary histories of Expressionism, the poet was considered lost until now. Both her early prose and journalistic writings, as well as her late texts, are presented here for the first time in a collected format as part of her complete works.
