Product details
1929: The civilization-weary doctor Carlo Ritter decides to leave his comfortable existence in Germany behind and henceforth live as a toothless, naked savage on Floreana, an uninhabited island in the Pacific. His utopia quickly finds imitators: an adventurous young couple arrives in Ritter's "black paradise," and soon after, an eccentric baroness with her entourage of pleasure boys follows them. The idyll turns into a relentless struggle for existence, and the island itself resists colonization. Inspired by the never-solved criminal cases of the "Galapagos Affair," Ida Hegazi Høyer tells a story pulsating with tension and dark sensuality from the heart of darkness.
