Theodor Storm (1817-1888) and Gottfried Keller (1819-1890) never met in person, even though both lived in Berlin in the mid-1850s. It was not until 1877 that Storm, who took a keen interest in Keller's literary work, initiated a correspondence in which both authors intensely discussed artistic issues. After ten years, six months before Storm's death, the correspondence came to an end. This is a reprint of the original edition from 1904.
