Product details

Thomas Aquinas (circa 1225-1274) is one of the most significant theologians of scholasticism. He synthesized the teachings of Augustine with the philosophy of Aristotle, which had become known in the West during his time, into a philosophical-theological synthesis. He developed and completed a scientific theology of revelation that was meant to hold primacy among all sciences. All worldly beings are related to the divine being due to their participation in it, in varying degrees of perfection. The human being, defined in the order of creation as a unity of body and soul, is directed in his quest for knowledge towards the vision of God and in his will towards the highest good. The ontological status of the human person is grounded in the universal capacity for knowledge of the spiritual soul and its immediacy to God.
