For over a hundred years, Freud's interpretation of dreams has been regarded as the royal road to the unconscious. During this time, it has differentiated through the development of various currents within psychoanalytic theory. The 63rd annual conference of the DGPT focused on classical and contemporary psychoanalytic concepts of dreams. The contributions gathered here span from the early preconceptions of psychoanalysis to today's neuroscientific findings. Different theoretical concepts, considerations of the micro-processes of psychological changes, as well as clinical experiences with dream interpretation in work with adults and children are presented and discussed.
