Product details

After the capitulation of Ulm to Napoleon's army, they continued on to Austria. In November 1805, the Battle of Dürnstein took place during the Third Coalition War. Napoleon won and entered Vienna. The Austrian historian Karl August Schimmer (1800 - 1863) documents the coalition wars in this extensive work, also addressing other historical battles, such as the Battle of Austerlitz. A few years later, in May 1809, the French were once again at the gates of Vienna. Schimmer describes in this work, using various reliable sources, the details of the French invasion, the peace negotiations, and treaties. This book is a historical masterpiece filled with information about the early 19th century.
