The theologian and court preacher Bernhard Rogge (1831 - 1919) describes in this work the development of the Prussian King Frederick II, also known as Frederick the Great. Rogge outlines the life of the king from his childhood and youth up to his death, chronologically addressing the accession to the throne of King Frederick as well as the struggles for Silesia and the acquisition of West Prussia. This is a carefully revised reprint of the original edition from 1914.
