The Life Picture is the last work of Hannah Höch, which she worked on from July 1972 to March 1973. The photojournalist couple Liselotte and Armin Orgel Köhne, who inspired the collaged self-portrait, provided Höch with the original photos for it. The Life Picture measures 130 x 150 cm and is the largest collage Höch ever created. It marks the culmination of a fully lived, active life that spanned nearly 100 years. The viewer gains insight into the story of an extraordinary, self-assured woman who experienced all the highs and lows - while also getting a glimpse of life in the previous century. Hannah Höch defined 38 image segments. In addition to an overview of the entire collage, these 38 segments are depicted in the book. Höch's personal explanations of these segments were provided by the photographers Orgel Köhne.
