The Heidelberg Catechism is one of the most widely distributed theological texts in the German language. Since its first publication in 1563, it has been translated into around forty languages and has spread across all continents. People around the world and generations to this day have learned and continue to learn what it means to be a Christian through its questions and answers. In some parts of Reformed Protestantism, the Heidelberg is still regarded as a foundational text. The authors in this volume inquire about the current significance of the Heidelberg Catechism. They highlight its theological emphases, examine its diverse effects, and illuminate its ecumenical importance. A common thread in their contributions is the belief that the Heidelberg still offers answers for contemporary Christian living today.
