Product details
The castle in Königsberg, founded by the Teutonic Order in 1255, was the oldest residence of the Brandenburg-Prussian state and until 1701 one of the prominent seats of power in Northeast Europe. This two-volume comprehensive account traces the history of the castle from its beginnings to its destruction in 1967/68, thoroughly and for the first time based on newly accessed textual sources and visual documents, as a building and court of the Prussian dukes and Brandenburg electors.
