In a charming little German town, there is a museum unlike any other. So many strange exhibits are scattered around, mysteriously connected to one another. Carlotta Goldkorn, the kind, overworked curator, is currently preparing the next exhibition and is sitting across from Stockholm literature professor Gösta Johansson, who wants to lend a painting to the museum. Yes, of course. Love at first sight. And right after that: a chain reaction of stirring events with (not immediately recognizable) potential for happiness: a couple for life, a revealed family secret, a huge art forgery scandal, a rescued child, and several people finally daring to be who they truly are.
