This book unfolds in an unusual way the intellectual biography of one of the most important philosophers of our time. The intellectual journey of Jacques Rancière is presented not as a linear progression or causality, but through scenes and moments: the development of his philosophical project, his formative years, the methodological and political break with Louis Althusser, the lessons from May 1968, and the question of the role of intellectuals.
