Abstract: Economics and politics are largely controlled and influenced by a few very large companies and corporations. Besides economic factors such as the range and price of goods, they determine the life and behavior of most people and many political decisions in a state. Their means, ranging from lobbying, espionage, corruption, data forgery to organized crime, often lie beyond the limits of legality. Apart from the question of whether such a distribution of power is legitimate, the question is also how it comes about and whether or how resistance to it is manifested.
