This book is about redefining democracy by demonstrating that democracy is the political organization form that corresponds to the fundamental human self-understanding. To provide this proof, the book aims to show the anchoring of democracy in the social existence of humans. It pursues this goal by attempting to identify the logical—not historical—roots of democracy. Democracy is a part of our social existence. Therefore, it is not merely an arbitrary organizational principle of politics, but rather a consistent transfer of social existence into the sphere of the collective regulatory needs of societies. The social nature of humans corresponds to their maximum involvement in public decision-making processes. This leads to the postulate of a participatory approach.
